Admissions announced for NRIs, PIOs and Foreign students


Delhi: July 16, 2010: In an endeavour to provide an opportunity to international students to study in an Indian engineering institution of high repute and enhance the multi-cultural and global flavor of its academic environment, Delhi Technological University (DTU), formerly Delhi College of Engineering, has decided to open its doors for the students of other countries from the upcoming academic session. The University has commenced the procedure to admit foreign nationals, Non Resident Indians (NRI) and Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) in the B.Tech. and M.Tech. programs of the University from 2010-11 academic session. 5% of the seats over and above the sanctioned intake in B.Tech. and M.Tech. courses will be made available for such candidates.
The admission to these seats will be made strictly on the basis of merit. For the 14 B.Tech. courses on offer, the merit for admission will be decided on the basis of SAT-II score of an applicant. A student needs to have minimum 60% in PCM in class XIIth/ equivalent and minimum of 50% SAT-II (Maths-II, Physics and Chemistry) score to be eligible for a B.Tech. program, provided he/ she passed in each subject separately. There will be 45 seats on offer in B.Tech. courses for the students under the categories of NRIs/ PIOs and Foreign nationals.

For the M.Tech. programs available in 17 disciplines, an applicant needs to have minimum 60% in aggregate in B.E./B. Tech./ equivalent examination (as prescribed) and a valid GRE score. Selection will be made strictly on the basis of GRE score. There will be 17 seats on offer in the M.Tech. courses for the above-mentioned categories of students. The fees for the foreign students/ NRI/ PIOs, for both B.Tech. and M.Tech. courses will be US$ 5000. The Application Form for admission can be downloaded from the DTU website www.dce.edu and submitted along-with a demand draft of Indian Rs 5,000 in favour of ‘Registrar, Delhi Technological University, payable at Delhi, on or before July 30, 2010.  The list of provisionally selected candidates will be displayed on the University website on August 5, 2010.  The selected candidates will be required to take admission by August 12, 2010 failing which the admission will be offered to the next in the qualifying list on August 13, 2010. The application forms received after the last date will not be considered under any circumstances.
