The environment at Delhi School of Management (DSM) is action packed with visiting experts from industry/ academia, workshops, symposium, and panel discussions peppered with student activities. DSM also gives ample exposure to students through case-studies, course projects, and industry internships. The emphasis is on the right combination of classroom learning, hands-on experience in the corporate world and sharing the rich experience of the executives. The students also get focused soft-skills training to enable their true inner qualities to shine through.
At DSM, the curriculum is designed to meet the requirements of the present day technology intensive business functions. DSM trains its students to develop into techno managers with the ability to manage complex, global and dynamic business environment. The focus is on developing a strong foundation in the first and second semesters of the programme with subjects from across different elements of management. For the third semester, students can pick up one of the three specializations (each with four subjects) - Supply Chain Management, Information Technology Management and Knowledge and Technology Management. To enable them to make an informed choice, one subject of each of these specializations is taught in the second semester. Similarly, in the fourth semester students can select one of the three specializations (each with four subjects) - Finance, Marketing and Human Resource .To allow the students to gain on-the-job-training and apply the classroom knowledge, an 8-week summer internship and final dissertation project has been made an integral part of the curriculum. Further to make this internship effective and result oriented, every student is attached with a mentor.

The year 2011 turned out to be an event packed year where it organized its first National Business Quiz, Qui-Vive in September, 2011, which was a colossal success with participation from all over India. Annual Management Conclave on the theme 'Innovative Talent Management Practices: Challenge for GlobalVillage' was organized in October, 2011. The eminent speakers at the conclave include Mr. Rajeev Sahdev, VP, Moser Baer; Mr. Kamal Singh, Director, CMD, ALMA; Mr. Subhash Bansiwal, ExPresident HR, Trident Group.
DSM also had the privilege of hosting its first 'Campus Idea Exchange' in collaboration with Indian Express in November, 2011. The Suneet Singh Tulli, CEOD atawind ltd., the company behind the revolutionary Aakash Tablet. In January 2012 DSM started C. K. Prahalad Memorial Lecture Series and first Lecture was delivered by Dr.Shyam S. Lodha-a world renowned Management Guru and an eminent educationist on the topic "Preparing Professionals for the 21st Century". The second lecture in the series was delivered by Dr. Ranjit Sinha, Management Consultant UK on the subject "Business Leadership".
A three-day cross functional 'Learning Curve Simulation Workshop' (an IIM Alumni Company) was also organized in the month of February, 2012 to emphasize on decision making skills using cases, situations, long term business strategies and analyzing risk return. Panel Discussion on the topic 'Recent Global Slowdown: Sharing of Experiences' was organized in February, 2012. The discussion aimed to understand the impact of global economic slowdown on Indian and Global Businesses. Mark-e-think' 12, the First Annual Marketing Fest of Delhi School ofManagement, was organized in the month of March, 2012. The Fest hosted a wide array of events including a National Conference, Social Media Marketing Strategy Competition, B•Plan Competition, and a Brand Development Competition.
In April, 2012, Delhi School of Management hosted a National Conference, Technical Paper Presentation, and an NGO Fair as part of Kartavya - Transforming India. Kartavya, an initiative of Student World Assembly - DTU, is a step aimed at spreading social awarenessamong the people of India. Kartavya , in an unprecedented initiative, succeeded in uniting the power of academia, corporate, NGO as well as the omnipotent youth of our Nation. The various student societies of DSM provide a vibrant environment for the students by organizing events such as Marketing Quiz, Finance Quiz, Debate, Sports Quiz and various events like Cricket Premier League, Football Premier League ,and Basketball Premier League by Sports Club.
The school also admits scholars for the PhD program in areas like Technology Management, Knowledge and Innovation Management, IPR Management, Supply Chain Management, Management of Information System, Total Quality Management, Productivity Management, and Enterprise Management
